Annual Wellness Exam

Pets age much more rapidly than people (approximately 7 times for dogs & 5 times for cats) and some age related diseases caught in the early stages can often be controlled through medications and even simple dietary changes. Our Vets recommend an annual wellness exam for all pets. Our wellness exams are designed to ensure both the detection and prevention of potential diseases. Wellness exams may include: Nutrition, Vaccinations, Dental care, Pet health, Supplements and Laboratory testing.

Pet Vaccinations

From the time your pet is about eight weeks old, he or she will need pet vaccinations to prevent the most common, contagious and deadly diseases pets can catch. Keeping your pet up to date on vaccinations is one of the most effective, inexpensive ways to make sure they are protected from possible pain and suffering and to develop a strong immunity. Talk with our veterinarian about your pets’ vaccination schedules.

Spay and Neuter

These safe routine surgeries do more than just help reduce the ongoing tragedy of unwanted animals in shelters, they can also extend and improve your pets’ quality of life! Our veterinary team will take precautions to ensure that your pet receives a safe anesthetic. We always recommend that a physical exam and pre-anesthetic testing be done before surgery. We also monitor your pet during surgery and provide pain medication during recovery. A registered animal health technologist will monitor your pet.

Pet Dental

Oral hygiene plays an important role in your animals health. Nearly 80% of pets struggle with some level of periodontal disease, which can be painful and even cause organ damage. Our experienced vets in our clinic can treat and prevent pet dental problems and show you how you can care for your pets teeth at home.

Pet Surgery

Dr. Jennifer Stelfox is very experienced and our technician staff are well trained to provide most pet surgeries from routine spay and neuter’s to emergency surgeries, lumpectomies, dentals, orthopedic surgeries and more.

X-Rays & In House Diagnostics

With digital X-rays and an in-house laboratory our animal clinic is equipped to make fast, accurate veterinary care decisions without waiting for test results to come from other locations. Combining this with our electronic records system, we can transfer test results throughout the clinic and out to specialists or other vet clinics as necessary.

COVID-19 Policies

The following COVID-19 related changes are now in immediate effect as of August 1, 2020:

  1. Clinic Entry
    • We have a closed door policy still in place for clinic visits, food and prescription pick ups in order to maintain recommended social distancing measures.
    • Please call us at 780-484-6672 when you arrive at the clinic, a staff member will meet you outside and bring your pet in.
    • Once the appointment is complete the Dr. will call to discuss the appointment and any concerns or treatments and a staff member will bring your pet back outside to you.
    • Masks are mandatory inside and OUTSIDE the clinic.
    • If you are feeling ill (coughing, sneezing, runny nose, fever, sore throat or difficulty breathing), or had any Coronavirus exposure/recent travel history, please let us know so we can creatively find solutions for you and your pet.
  2. Payment
    • For payment we encourage over the phone payments but do still accept Debit, Visa, MasterCard or Cash.
  3. Requesting Prescription Refills
    • Please be advised that we require a minimum of 24 hours notice for prescription refills. As we cannot guarantee same-day refills (due to delays in medication deliveries, back ordered items and current stock levels), it is recommended that you contact us at least 1 week prior to running out of medication to place your order to ensure that your pet has enough medication to last until the order is available for pick up.
  4. Requesting Food Put Aside or Ordered In
    • Let us know a week before running out of your pet's food to ensure we have it in stock and set aside for you, if not we can add it to our next order.
    • We also have our eCommerce website to order food and have it delivered to your home, office or to the clinic for pickup.

If your pet needs immediate emergency attention, please contact Pulse Veterinary or Guardian Veterinary for medical services.
